How to Start the Mars Student Imaging Project

Getting started is easy, simply click on the link below to fill out and submit an online interest form.

MSIP Online Interest Form

The MSIP online interest form does not obligate you to start working on MSIP. But it does let us know that you are interested in learning more. Once the online interest form is filled out and submitted, you will soon be contacted by an MSIP Program Coordinator to discuss the details of the program. There are a variety of options available to MSIP teams, it is important that these details are discussed and worked out between the MSIP Coordinator and the educator leading the student team before teams begin the project.

Educators will work closely with their MSIP Coordinator at Arizona State University's Mars Space Flight Facility to administer MSIP in the classroom. The ASU MSIP Coordinator will serve as primary trainer and MarsEd point of contact for participants to administer the project in to the classroom. ASU MSIP Coordinators will work with and schedule individual sessions to determine the most appropriate time frames for each classroom’s level of project participation and help teachers identify an MSIP activity format that best meets the needs of the classroom.  Whether it be to participate in optional teleconferences/video-conferences to increase teacher and student background knowledge about Mars or serving as Mars imaging project guides, the ASU MSIP Coordinators will guide classrooms through the process to administer a successful and engaging experience.

MSIP is delivered in 3 different formats to meet the needs of any classroom in any part of the world. Go to the Activity Formats page to choose the format that works best for you and your team.
